12/12 (5 days and 4 practices to go)

...I am at the end of my 12th week here in Mysore. Much like every other Friday I am beat from the alarm that rings at 3am, the long haul practice, and now the heat that just will not quit. I am looking forward to a good nights rest. This will be the last chance for meaningful rest until I am home. I practice right up until and including the 30th of March and then I will begin epic cosmic journey through time and space and arrive in Boston on March 31st, 3pm.

It has been an amazing period of study and steadiness. Manorama suggests that yoga is such a powerful method because as students we study the subject but more than that we study the ONE studying the subject. Ashtanga yoga in its essence does that so well. The only sounds in the room are of the practice itself, the breath of the students, and the teachings from the lineage. It is a stripped down, naked kind of experience.

"silence is the language of god,
all else is poor translation."
— Mawlana Jalal-al-Din Rumi

I will miss the shala and my brethren in breath, but I am ready to come home.

Many people from home and in Mysore are wondering where Mike and I will be off to next. We still don't know. This is why I think I am really trying to get the word out about my workshops. I don't know when or where I'll have a regular teaching schedule again. I am now an Authorized teacher in the Ashtanga Yoga lineage and have no roots down. I am amused at the timing of it all.

Looking forward to reconnecting with so many and my cute red jacket.
